The Importance of the Arabic Language
The Arabic language is the language of the Holy Quraan and it was the language of the last Messenger, Muhammad. Spending time and effort to learn it is spending time and effort to learn the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of his last Messenger. The famous scholar Ibn Taymiyyah says; "The Arabic language is part of the religion, knowing it is compulsory, obligatory. For it is obligatory to understand The Quraan and the Sunnah and they cannot be understood except with knowledge of the Arabic language, hence if an obligation cannot be fulfilled except with something else then that too becomes obligatory.
