Study Tips
  1. Make sure that our intention behind seeking this knowledge is purely for Allaah. We should make the intention that we are studying this to remove ignorance from ourselves and raise the quality of our worship of Allaah.
  2. We should make Du'aa to Allaah, asking him to increase our knowledge.
  3. Spend at LEAST 1 hour a day on this work.
  4. Read the lesson at LEAST 3 times, once before the lesson where you look up the meanings of the new words. Once during the lesson, FOLLOWING the teacher, where you concentrate upon the grammar principles and once before the next lesson.  This is a minimum guideline, if you decide to read more than this, it is even better.
  5. Keep a small vocabulary diary in which you write the words that you DON'T know and through out the day you can be constantly learning at any spare moment.
  6. Vocabulary is very important so make sure you learn a minimum of 5 new words EVERY day.
  7. Always read aloud (this applies to reading the Quraan as well, but not so as to disturb others) as this will keep your tongue in line with your brain.
  8. Try and find somebody who you can read to in order to practise your pronunciation.
  9. Print up the lessons and do the exercises, try to find somebody who will correct your work.
  10. Have patience, progress might be slow at first but if you are consistent you will soon reap the fruits of your efforts.
  11. Discipline in adhering to these guide lines will be a key factor affecting your progress.  Know that a person with discipline can achieve more than a person of high ability if the later does not apply themselves.
